Rex’s Exes

by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten

Those crazy Verdeen cousins of Sweetgum, Texas, are at it again. Gaynelle is frustrated from working too many two-bit jobs and cannot face her big 50th birthday.  Cousin Peaches decides she will throw a surprise party for Gaynelle and Cousin Jimmie Wy reluctantly agrees to help her despite Gaynelle’s insistence that she does not want her birthday celebrated. This play is full of twists and turns and the surprise is on the cousins in a hilarious turn of events: Peaches’ dead husband comes back only to have his romantic links to each of the cousins discovered.  Trailing him is a Cajun bounty hunter who crashes a memorial service. Add to that a jilted bride who holds the Verdeens hostage with a loaded paintball gun. The hilarity continues as Aunt LaMerle enters the picture determined to join the ranks of the elite “Daughters of the State of Texas.” Confused?  You won’t be as all gets revealed.  This is a show you won’t want to miss!
