“A River Runs Through It” is a musical journey through the ways that rivers define, carry, and nurture us. The program centers on North Carolina’s own Tift Merritt, performing her Other Side of Hungry River. In music that’s both intimate and sweeping, she dives deeply into the spiritual connections between Mother Nature and the hidden lives and legacies of North Carolina’s past. The concert includes music by Jonathan Bailey Holland, Bedřich Smetana’s The Moldau and Robert Schumann’s epic Symphony No. 3, “Rhenish.”
