Puppeteering Workshop with Marty Robinson (Mr. Snuffleupagus from Sesame Street)

Tryon Fine Arts Center Pavilion

Wednesday, July 12 from 6:30 - 8 pm

Calling all muppet geeks! If you’ve ever dreamed of learning a bit more about what it takes to be a professional puppeteer, this is your opportunity.

Marty Robinson, who’s played Mr. Snuffleupagus on Sesame Street for decades will teach a special Puppeteering Workshop at Tryon Fine Arts Center during the run of Aanika’s Elephants. The workshop is for adults and children, ages 12+, and will take place in the Pavilion on July 12 from 6:30 – 8 pm.

The hands-on workshop will feature an actual muppet (green “Kermit” material with eyeballs) for participants to learn some muppet-style puppetry and how to make puppets come to life on
television with a real TV camera! Marty will also share how he got his start as a puppeteer, how he got on Sesame Street, who his characters are, and a lot of “behind the scenes” stories that will make for an interesting evening with one of the most revered puppeteers in the entertainment industry. The workshop is limited to 25, so sign up early.
