My Fair Lady set the standard by which all other musicals are measured. Based on George Bernard Shaw’s play Pygmalion, with book, music and lyrics by Lerner and Loewe, My Fair Lady is gloriously triumphant.

Henry Higgins is a renowned professor of elocution seeking the answer to the most burning of questions—why can't the English learn to speak? When a poor flower girl named Eliza Doolittle comes to him to enlist his service as a dialect coach to train her out of her thick Cockney accent, Higgins makes a bet with his new friend Colonel Pickering that if they can teach Eliza to speak with a "proper" accent, she'll be taken as a proper lady within six months. Eliza is fully capable of learning, but what's less clear is if she's capable of putting up with Professor Higgins and his terrible attitude.

This timeless tale of transformation features one of musical theatre's greatest scores. Songs include "Wouldn’t It Be Loverly?," "With a Little Bit of Luck," "The Rain in Spain," "I Could Have Danced All Night," "On the Street Where You Live," "Get Me to the Church on Time," and "I’ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face." Experience one of the greatest classics Golden Age Broadway has to offer.

Resurrection

Directed by Stephanie Long

May 17 at 7 pm
May 18 at 3 pm

Tickets: Adults $16, Student/Senior $14

What if something positive could come out of the COVID pandemic? This was my thought as I sat down to write this play. This is the story of a 58 year old woman with advanced Alzheimer's who contracts COVID, is placed on a ventilator, and when she awakens, she no longer has Alzheimer's. Although this sounds wonderful, the "resurrection" of Margaret causes chaos in her family "bubble." This show is about relationships and the delicate balance they require to keep them on track.

Rated PG-13 for some language and adult situations

Ben Miller

Volcano: A Science Comedy Show

May 23rd at 7:30 pm

Majestic Theatre: Starker Auditorium

Tickets: $20

What happens when a comedian walks into a volcano?

In 2023, Ben Miller was the artist in residence at Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, the first stand-up comedian ever selected. This was probably a terrible idea on their part.

Come watch this show where scientist turned stand-up comedian Ben Miller explores volcanology, entomology, Hawaiian history, cats, cookies, and more. And yes that photo is real. Ben has made people laugh in front of a burning lava lake and he is not afraid of you.

Ben Miller is an NYC based scientist turned comedian who has been working for the past 8 years. In that time, he has performed at all the top clubs in the city such as Broadway Comedy Club, Carolines, and The Stand. Ben was once ranked as the top roast battler in NYC. He has a degree in Materials Science and Engineering, worked on a science bus, 3D printed cookies and has diffused a few bar fights while on stage. In 2022, Ben's debut hour, Stand-Up Science, had a completely sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and he now tours internationally.

This show is recommended for ages 18+.

Corvallis Comedy Night with Sophie Buddle

June 13 at 7:30 pm

Majestic Theatre- Starker Auditorium

Tickets: $20

Don’t let her sweet voice and Canadian-ness fool you, Sophie Buddle is hardly the nice girl she appears to be. In the grand tradition of Sarah Silverman, Amy Schumer and Ali Wong, Sophie Buddle delivers funny and filthy jokes about sex and relationships through a winkingly ditzy stage persona that you just can’t help but love. Originally from Ottawa, Ontario and now based in LA, Sophie has performed on The Tonight Show, Comedy Central and The Late Late Show with James Corden. In addition to being a fantastic stand-up, she is currently the head monologue writer for CBS’s After Midnight, where she has also appeared as a guest. In the past year she’s toured the country with everyone from Taylor Tomlinson to Marc Maron, and we cannot wait to welcome her here to Corvallis!

Corvallis Comedy Night with Dustin Nickerson

Sunday, October 26th at 5pm and 7:30pm.

Tickets: $25

There’s an image of the stand-up comedian as a drunken, drugged-out curmudgeon with no family ties, constantly on the road. And then there’s Dustin Nickerson. Married to his high school sweetheart, with three kids and his elderly father back at home, he has totally different reasons to constantly be on the road. Well that, and he’s quickly becoming one of America’s most in-demand stand-ups who won’t embarrass you in front of your mom. Following in the footsteps of such dad joke legends as Jim Gaffigan, Nate Bargatze and Brian Regan, Dustin writes hilarious jokes about marriage and family that (shock!) the whole family can enjoy. He’s been on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, The Late Late Show with James Corden and After Midnight with Taylor Tomlinson. And we can’t wait to be with him, for two big shows this October right here in Corvallis!

Rated: PG-13
