Come in from the weather and mingle and jingle with the newest edition of “Hope for the Holidays – The Wintry Mix Edition!” Set somewhere in the year 1962, in an imaginary television studio, clueless tv hostess Hope Henderson (Jo Brisbane) presents her cabaret crew of characters including: Misty Tinsel (Eden Casteel); the Sugar Sisters – Candy (Ashley LaCroix) and Taffy (Jane Loutzenhiser); along with their shared love, Binaca the Bartender (Jay Stewart). It's a love quadrangle and Santa saves the day, as he always does. Holiday tunes both familiar and obscure, both heartfelt and irreverent, are sung by the questionable quintet. Jealousy and joy, fueled by Christmas cocktails – become a wild wintry mix. Award-winning vocalist and storyteller Doris Dear, America’s Perfect Housewife www.dorisdear.com will make a special guest appearance for the December 3 show at Don’t Tell Mama www.donttellmama.com. The entire cast of “Wintry Mix” is already filled with joy and jealousy about that guest appearance. A full-length version of “Hope for the Holidays” (conceived and written by Jo Brisbane) was originally presented by Cotuit Center for the Arts, Cotuit MA. Music Director for the “Wintry Mix” cabaret version is Eden Casteel. Malcolm Granger (along with lyricist Brisbane) contributed an arrangement of the show’s original theme song. The show enjoyed a sold-out run at its premiere and was a critical sensation. “’Hope for the Holidays’ is a brilliantly funny satire of the holiday season. Only a real-life Scrooge could resist it.” – Paul Babin, The Cape Cod Times “The revue…is a marvel of comedy and good-natured satiric fun, the perfect spoof of television of that day, wrapped in a glimmery package with spot-on renditions of 60s-era holiday songs.” – Barbara Clark, WickedLocal.com/The Cape Codder.
