“Oratoria de Noel” by Camille Saint Saen
This Oratoria was premiered in 1858 in France. Camille Saint Saen was a performing organist by the age of 12, and a composer/conductor of note in the post Baroque Romantic Era.

Christmas Motets (short pieces of sacred music) by Michael Pratorius
Michael Pratorius was a versatile and prolific composer born in Germany in 1571. He has been called a “Renaissance Man Extraordinaire”. He and his contemporaries broke away from early Renaissance music influenced largely by Gregorian Chants, and experimented with more complex new genres of music and musical motifs such as cadences, moments of dissonance, polyphony (overlapping and simultaneous melodies), and a horizontal contrapuntal style.

This production features professional soloists, a string quintet, and a bell choir.
