Sierra Madre Playhouse is hosting an event featuring TAIKOPROJECT, a Los Angeles-based taiko drumming group. The event is family-friendly, with tickets priced at $10 per person.

Founded in 2000, TAIKOPROJECT is known for its contemporary American approach to the traditional art of taiko drumming. The group, led by Bryan Yamami and Masato Baba, combines traditional taiko techniques with modern elements, appealing to a broad audience.

TAIKOPROJECT gained international recognition in 2005 by winning the Tokyo International Taiko Contest, the first American group to do so. They have performed at high-profile events like the Academy Awards and the Grammy Awards, and have appeared on national television.

The group has also collaborated with well-known artists such as Stevie Wonder, Peter Gabriel, and Alicia Keys. Their performance at the Sierra Madre Playhouse promises to be an exciting and dynamic display of taiko drumming.

This event offers an opportunity for families to experience the powerful and rhythmic art of taiko drumming.
