The Innocents
by William Archibald
Presented by Post Mortem Players
When a young governess arrives at a countryside home to care for two children, she begins to suspect they are being watched by someone in the garden. As the children’s behavior grows more and more concerning, the governess suspects this figure poses a supernatural threat. Is it just in her head? Or are the children, and more importantly their souls, in danger?
THE INNOCENTS is adapted from Henry James' classic ghost story THE TURN OF THE SCREW. The play itself was later adapted for the 1961 film of the same name, widely considered as one of the best ghost movies of all time. The original novella was more recently used as the basis for the Netflix series THE HAUNTING OF BLY MANOR.
