When disco diva wannabe Deloris Van Cartier witnesses her gangster boyfriend, Curtis Shank, commit a murder behind his grungy club where she’s hoping to start her career, she runs to the police to report the crime and ends up in their witness protection plan…The convent of The Holy Order of the Little Sisters of Our Mother of Perpetual Faith is where she hides disguised as a nun. Finding herself at odds with the rigid Mother Superior Deloris tries to appease and uses her singing talents and fabulous disco moves to inspire the other nuns, creating a contemporary choir that becomes the hit of Philadelphia. Unfortunately, word of their success reaches Curtis and after recognizing Deloris, he and his mobsters embark on the convent where they find themselves battling not only Deloris the feisty nuns. This joyous feel good musical comedy celebrates the power of friendship, sisterhood and music.
