Join the Creative Arts Guild as we celebrate International Sculpture Day with Art and Soul and a Sculpture Stroll!
Saturday, April 27, 11am - 2pm at the Creative Arts Guild (520 W. Waugh Street) on the Spigel Pavilion and in our Robert T. Webb Sculpture Garden
Art and Soul will feature a three-course brunch catered by Cyra's, a variety of beverages available at a cash bar, docent guided tours of the Robert T. Webb Sculpture Garden (which includes 12 new works recently installed), live music by Soul Candy, gallery exhibits featuring ATL Imported: a collection of works by Atlanta artists curated by Rial Rye and an exhibition of photographs by George Spence highlighting arrangements by his late wife, Rhenda Spence. Guests will also have the opportunity to participate in a raffle full of gift and travel packages from local and regional businesses as well as a cork pull.
Art and Soul takes the place of the Guild's traditional Spring for the Arts fundraiser and supports all of the Creative Arts Guild's Arts in Education programs. The Guild’s Arts in Education programs consist of our internal educational classes and workshops in dance, visual arts, culinary arts, and music; field trip offerings; arts scholarships; our annual Student Arts Expo; our multicultural children’s hill at FESTIVAL; and Creative Connections – our annual professional development conference for all our area school arts educators in all arts disciplines.
Our coveted partnership with the O.N. Jonas Foundation provides Artists in Residence opportunities for our area students - striving to ensure that every child in our community has the opportunity to participate in the arts. The partnership is committed to broadening student arts exposure and education in grades pre-K through 12 in Dalton Public, Whitfield County and Murray County Schools, as well as the Elbert Shaw Regional Detention Center, Crossroads Academy, Mountain Creek Academy and Northstar School.
The Guild’s Arts in Education programs strive to ensure that ALL of our community’s children are engaged in the arts and are granted the benefits of art experiences regardless of their socioeconomic background.
With your help, we will continue the tradition of connecting students to the arts. Please join us at this year’s Art and Soul fundraiser!
