"A Midsummer Night's Dream" is a ballet adapted from William Shakespeare's famous comedy of the same name. The ballet, set to music by composer Felix Mendelssohn, tells the story of intertwining plots centered around the theme of love and its complications. It follows the adventures of four young lovers, a group of amateur actors, and magical fairies who inhabit a forest. The plot unfolds as the characters' paths cross, leading to misunderstandings, transformations, and ultimately, resolution. Throughout the ballet, themes of magic, fantasy, and the whimsical nature of love are explored, creating a captivating and enchanting experience for audiences of all ages.

This show features the students of Central Oregon School of Ballet with Bend area professionals and community volunteers. Delightful new choreography was done by Artistic Director, Joshua D. Deininger.

The second act of the show features the iconic and surreal Dream Scene from Act 2 of Don Quixote. Choreographed by Marius Petipa and set to the music of Ludwig Minkus, this work showcases the beauty and ethereal quality of classical ballet.
