This tragic exploration of ambition, power, and guilt follows the rise and fall of Macbeth, a Scottish nobleman who, upon hearing a prophecy, is driven by his own ambition and his wife’s urging to murder King Duncan of Scotland and seize the throne. But his reign is marred by paranoia and tyranny, leading to not only his downfall but also his wife’s.
