On his visit to Spillville, Iowa in the late 1893, Czech composer Antonin Dvorak said that in the African American melodies “I discover all that is needed for a great and noble school of music.” The critically-acclaimed Avalon String Quartet will present two varied programs exploring music in the Americas since that time: American Voices.
