Robin Hood

Adapted by Michael McGill

Music and Lyrics by Michael McGill

The time is simply long ago and the place is the magical, mythical Sherwood Forest. Our hero, Robin Hood, and his Merry Band of colorful characters seek the help of the Foresters, manage to waylay the Aristocrats and set out to rescue Maid Marion and Marion’s Maid. Prince John tries to stay calm as his Sheriff, guards and horsemen botch Robin’s arrest thanks to the aromatic Skunks. Wacky humor and an original score add to this fresh new look at a legendary outlaw in a legendary time.

Join us for a staged reading of The Final Boss written by Alison Reeger Cook and directed by Diane Jamieson. Part of the FIRST DRAFT staged reading series presented by the Edmonds Driftwood Players and Driftwood After Dark.

Synopsis: Moonscar and Squeak are two great adventurers on a quest to discover an ancient gate that will lead to their hearts' greatest desires. The only catch? They can't get through the gate without defeating the Final Boss. And the Final Boss is nowhere to be found.implic While waiting for their fates to unfold, the two companions reveal secrets that start to test them in ways that no battles, monsters, or feats of daring have before, making them question the very nature of the world they live in. Matters only get more complicated as two new combatants find them, one of which is Moonscar's ex. Maybe this whole "quest to end all quests" isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Expected Run Time: 75 minutes, with no intermission. Playwright Feedback session is after the reading and it is optional to stay and participate.

Content Warning(s): Some adult language, sword fighting, discussions of violence and suicide
