79 Ways to Die is an award winning original work by writer/director Veronica Rosas. Imagine someone took everything you loved about Shakespeare and ruined it. Also imagine someone took everything you hated about Shakespeare and made it better.
79 Ways is an interactive show featuring clowning, puppetry and sword fighting. It takes a unique look at the various deaths featured in William Shakespeare’s works. The show celebrates the female perspective, featuring a female cast playing and interpreting male characters.
“My Right Foot” tells the story of a woman with body identity integrity disorder whose mission in life is to have her foot removed. Finding a disgraced surgeon, she tries to convince him to cut it off. This hilariously dark one-act by the award winning Orange County playwright, screenwriter, and author of “The Cannibal’s Guide to Fasting”, Dana Hammer.
Now in its fifth year, the Page to Stage Playwrights Festival has a mission to provide a platform for works focusing on the female voice, and nurtures rising artists by showcasing new plays and sharing them with our vibrant local theatre community. Produced in conjunction with Festival Director Heather Enriquez and the That’s What She Said Women Writers Collective, Page to Stage receives hundreds of submissions each year, and has quickly become one of the most anticipated events in the Orange County theatre community.
