Come join us for a special event!
Meteor Night is a “play in a day” theatrical workshop experience, which produces original works in 24 hours. Actors, writers, and directors are brought together at 8:00pm on June 21st, and a show is written, rehearsed, and opens June 22nd at 8:00pm. The pieces are 10-minute plays with groups that are usually working together for the first time. It’s an exciting process that exercises theatrical disciplines. It’s a great way for creative people in our community to scratch their creative itch in one day - especially those who have schedules that might not allow for work on new pieces.
Our theme for this year, being our fifth year and third at the Burton Leavitt Theatre, is “The Fifth Wheel.” This year we will be back to six writers, six directors, and as many actors as we can get! There are varying levels of experience within the groups, but all of them need to work under time constraints with a showtime of 8:00pm on Saturday, June 22nd.
This is an exclusive experience that no one else will ever have. These shows do not exist yet, and will be created explicitly for the audience on Saturday, June 22nd. There will be plenty to think about and laugh about after the show.
For mature audiences ONLY!
