"So You Want To Be A Producer”

Presented by Emerson Collins

WORKSHOP OVERVIEW:

Join producer, director, and actor Emerson Collins for an intensive day of behind-the-scenes how-tos to making it in the producer's chair.

Tired of waiting for the right opportunity to get your creative project into the world? Take the power into your own hands and produce your own work! Nothing is harder as an actor, or writer, or filmmaker than waiting on someone else to provide the opportunity for you to do your work – so stop waiting!

This workshop is for all levels, whether you’re almost ready to produce your first project, or just wondering what you would need to start thinking about to do so.

We’ll cover the realities of productivity, working for no budget and low-budget, dealing with the unions, fundraising, becoming your own marketing team and some of the pitfalls to avoid when producing for the first time.

Emerson has worn all of the “hats,” and being a producer means changing hats all the time, and knowing when to put on the right one to ensure your project keeps moving forward. There are no “right” ways to produce your first project, only the ways that work for you. Together we’ll explore all of the ways to get you to your first project out in the world!
