An epic saga of social injustice, a struggle for redemption, and social revolution in 19th century France. Les Miserables follows Jean Valjean, and ex-convict released from unjust imprisonment who finds nothing in store for him but mistrust and mistreatment. Breaking his parole, he tries to live an honest life, but is relentlessly pursued by Javert, a police officer who refuses to believe Valjean can change his ways.
