Synopsis:

Iona is a Nova Scotian, who, like many others, goes west to the oilpatch for work. She trains for a career as a heavy equipment operator and finds a place for herself in the challenging new environment. When she becomes pregnant after a casual sexual encounter with a friend, she is in a jam. You can't raise a child in a work camp. She considers adopting the child to a couple who work in management and have explosive ideas of their own. Yet everything in a work camp is measured in dollars and sense. She must ask herself if there are some things, after all that are priceless.
