This work by Rosanna Gamson/World Wide brings a haunting and immersive reimagining of the Hansel and Gretel fairytale to the stage. Blending contemporary dance, music, and minimalistic set design, this production uses only portable lights and hand-drawn chalk sets, placing the performers at the heart of the story’s creation. Inspired by historical and political themes, including the rise of antisemitism and white supremacy, the piece reflects on abandonment, survival, and the dark side of human nature. With a talented cast of multidisciplinary performers, "Sugar Houses" combines powerful choreography, soundscapes, and storytelling, delivering a thought-provoking and emotionally charged experience.
