“Jazz Group of the Year” nominee The Lao Tizer Band make their return to Garth Newel Music Center on Saturday, July 5 in support of their new album & video release AMPLIFY. The project was recorded and filmed all LIVE at legendary EastWest Studios in Hollywood with a simultaneous 7-camera video shoot. The project is a major evolution for the group and includes 5 new original vocals, featuring American Idol star Elliott Yamin and 4 new original instrumentals. Joining keyboardist, composer and bandleader Lao Tizer (former “Best New Jazz Artist” nominee, Special EFX, Down To The Bone) for the performance are the aforementioned vocal sensation Elliott Yamin, GRAMMY-winning drum phenom Gene Coye (Hiromi, Terence Blanchard) and Senegalese bassist, producer and composer Cheikh N’Doye (Baaba Maal, Mike Stern). Please join us for this very special show as the ensemble takes you on a musical journey through diverse flavors in this beautifully intimate setting.
