Step into Lucy London’s deeply personal solo performance, Grasping at Straws: Reflections on an Activist Trajectory. This isn’t just a story—it’s a sensory experience through the heart of activism, where passion, doubt, and purpose collide, brought to life with music and storytelling that immerse you in every moment.

Lucy invites you to walk with her through pivotal chapters of her life: from her days as "the straw girl" in high school, proudly preaching individual sustainability, to the transformative experience of standing on the frontlines of Indigenous-led resistance camps, fighting against the Line 3 tar-sands pipeline.

Through crankie puppets, vivid storytelling, vulnerable reflection, and communal singing, Lucy chips away at the complexities of changemaking—the triumphs, the contradictions, and the original instructions that bind us to each other and the Earth. Grasping at Straws challenges us to confront our own role in shaping change and dares us to reflect, grieve, and dream together. How do we find our voice amidst contradictory ideologies? How do we see ourselves as a mirror through which the Earth can fall in love with itself? What are our original instructions?

This is more than a performance—it’s an invitation to sing ourselves into a new way of being.
