Pops Concert:

Sunday, May 11, 2025
2:00pm Doors open at 1:30

The 2025 Mother’s Day Pops Concert features a “James Bond” medley and music from nine other
popular films, including “Superman Returns,” “Wicked,” and “Jurassic Park.”
The final piece in the program is a tribute to John Williams, an American composer and conductor
whose career has spanned seven decades. His film scores are some of the most popular, recognizable
and critically acclaimed in cinema history. Williams is known for his collaboration with Steven Spielberg
and George Lucas, and for a distinct sound that mixes romanticism, impressionism and atonal music
with complex orchestration. His numerous accolades include 26 Grammy Awards, five Academy Awards,
seven British Academy Film Awards, three Emmy Awards and four Golden Globes. His 54 Academy
Award nominations make him the second-most nominated person, after Walt Disney. At age 93, he is the oldest Oscar nominee in any category.

Includes an opening peformance by the Lake County Adult and Youth Concert Orchestra directed by Camm Linden.

John Parkinson, conductor
Andi Skelton, concertmaster
