Edible Tales

Edible Tales began in 2020 as a pilot program in O'ahu and NYC during the pandemic as a way to connect on Zoom. Conversations about food shifted to environmental sustainability and social justice as food imports to Hawai'i stopped, and the killing of George Floyd caused a racial reckoning. This program combines community engagement, land stewardship, and performances in one and is open to all ages. To date, Edible Tales has taken place in a loʻi (wetland) and lokoi'a (fish pond) in Kaneohe O'ahu, at a Hawaiian homestead in Waiahole, and rooftop farms in New York City. The purpose of Edible Tales is to unite the community through food topics and address the challenges that face our community.
