The Philadelphia Story

March 14 to April 6, 2013

A romantic comedy by Phillip Barry

It's 1939 and headstrong and spoiled Tracy Lord--of the Philadelphia Lords--is a daughter of the privileged. Divorced from C.J. Dexter Haven, she is due to marry a successful young snob. A society weekly covertly sends a reporter and female photographer to cover the private wedding event, but the secret is leaked, and everyone winds up pretending to be who they aren't. Written and set over seventy years ago, this intelligent romantic comedy touches on questions of celebrity, privacy and personal happiness that remain familiar in the internet age.
