Composers Cookoff 2025

Three composers will head off in a friendly competition—who can create the most delicious, the most delightful, the most delectable new composition using the secret ingredient, esperanza spauldings' tune "City of Roses." Dinner from Willie Mae's Country & Soul Catering is included in the ticket price for all who attend, along with drinks and dessert. Vegetarian options are available.

Offering their critique will be jazz community celebrity judges. Performing these new creations will be a chamber quintet of Portland's finest featuring vocalist Jimmie Herrod.We have set a goal to raise a certain amount at this event from our sponsors, the silent auction, and from additional contributions made by our donors.
