Concert Description:

Join Music Director candidate Ian Passmore and the Great Falls Symphonic Choir for a stirring evening of reflection, resilience, and symphonic grandeur. The program opens with Omar Thomas’s Of Our New Day Begun, a powerful tribute to strength and unity in the face of tragedy.
The choir then joins the orchestra for Brahms’s Schicksalslied (Song of Destiny), a profound and moving meditation on the contrast between human struggle and divine serenity.
Next, we shine a spotlight on new music with Nancy Hill Cobb’s Shades & Illumination, selected as the winner of the Symphony’s Second Performance Project, showcasing a bold and evocative contemporary voice.
The evening concludes with Sibelius’s majestic Symphony No. 5, a sweeping and triumphant work that captures the awe of nature and the triumph of the human spirit.
