FRIDAYS IN SEPTEMBER: Robert Palomeque & Students in Percussion Concert
Friday, September 26 7:30 PM (Doors at 7:00 PM)
The next event in Theatre B’s new Fridays in September series brings the rich, joyful sound of the marimba to our stage. Join Dr. Robert Palomeque and Concordia College percussion students Andrew Kocher and Samuel Deneen for an evening that’s as engaging as it is enchanting.
The marimba—sometimes called the “voice of the rainforest”—is a percussion instrument unlike any other. Its deep resonance and shimmering tones can carry a melody with warmth and rhythm, telling stories that connect cultures across the globe. Throughout the evening, Dr. Palomeque will share his knowledge of the marimba’s history, cultural traditions, and repertoire, while students bring their artistry to vibrant solo and ensemble performances.
Discover why the marimba is both powerful and playful, and experience the joy of music-making that celebrates rhythm, culture, and community.
