PopUp Chorus

Come celebrate the season by singing two classic holiday songs, “All I Want for Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey and “Last Christmas” by Wham with PopUp Chorus.

Snuggle up in the warmth of The ArtsCenter theater to let loose and sing! Bring your children, your mother, your neighbor, your friend… or come on your own. We will be a room filled with other lovely humans, many wearing absurd Santa sweaters and reindeer antlers, and all singing our hearts out. Join PopUp Chorus for this special holiday event and feel the joy of singing with others.

Everyone is welcome, regardless of ability to sing! Children are welcome too, (we just ask that they be old enough to read the song lyrics). Horrible, tasteless holiday sweaters are strongly encouraged. Let’s celebrate the holiday and create a chorus in a night!

What is PopUp Chorus?

Ask yourself these questions: Do you like to sing? Have you thought about joining a chorus but are too busy to commit? Do you sing in the shower or in your car? Did you sing in college or school but don’t have an opportunity to now? Do you want to be in a giant band? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then you belong in PopUp Chorus!

We’re an ad hoc chorus with no audition or ongoing rehearsal commitment. People turn up when they want to sing and we’re never the same group twice. Everyone is welcome, regardless of singing ability.

At each event, our co-conductors, Kayla Richardson-Piché and Carter Hodge, teach two songs. When everyone is ready, we do a dress rehearsal and end with a final filmed performance. This is your chance to feel the joy of singing with others. It’s easy and fun!
