The Co-op of Pacific Resident Theatre Presents

HENRY IV
Parts 1 & 2

William Shakespeare

directed and adapted by Graham C. King

Amidst a changing England, King HENRY IV—who seized the throne decades ago in a bloody revolution—must pass the torch to his son, Prince Hal, a young heir who would rather make mischief with his old friend, the drunken knight Falstaff, than step into the burdens of rule. As rebellion brews and the fiery Hotspur marches toward open war, Hal is forced to confront the man he has been—and the leader he must become.

Following the tradition of ambitious reshapings of Shakespeare’s Henriad, Graham C. King’s new adaptation weaves the two-part epic into a single, continuous evening. By placing Parts 1 and 2 side by side, this PRT Co-op Production draws out the shifting relationships at the heart of the plays—reimagining the intimate PRT 707 Theater and offering a vivid look at Hal, Falstaff, and King Henry IV as they shape not only their own futures, but the fate of England itself.
