Memorial Opera House is thrilled to welcome Debutants for their first-ever performance on our stage. What began as a duo between longtime friends Lynn Nicholson and Jon Swain has grown into a dynamic 7-piece string band featuring two fiddles and a cello. No matter the configuration, their music radiates the joy they have playing together and the vibrant life they bring to every note.

Debutants’ evolution is captured across their acclaimed releases—from the Indiana Newgrass and Nobody Knows EPs to their full-length album River on the Moon, recorded live with the band gathered around just a few microphones. With soaring strings, rich harmonies, and spirited songwriting, their sound blends tradition with fresh creative energy.
