TEDx SMCS Youth
Redefining Perspectives explores how young people navigate a fast-changing world shaped by academic pressure, evolving identities, and constant digital influence. This theme invites speakers to share personal stories and insights that challenge conventional thinking while encouraging empathy, authenticity, and growth. Through thought-provoking talks and meaningful performances, we aim to create a space where students can pause, reflect, connect, and feel inspired to see the world and themselves, through new lenses.
This event is especially meaningful as it marks the first time ever that St. Michael’s College School will be hosting a TEDx event. Our speakers include University of Toronto Professors, Carrie Atkins, Judith Andersen, Stephen Batiuk, and our very own Director of Student Affairs, John Connelly. There will also be three SMCS students along with a student not attending SMCS that will present whose voices and experiences are central to this experience.
This presentation will invite our community to rethink assumptions, celebrate diverse ways of knowing, and imagine new possibilities for the future.
