Ground UP Productions & Town Hall Theater Present:
Treaty: A Play About How to NOT Blow Up the Planet
Directed by: Kate Middleton
Friday, March 27 - Sunday-March 29 in the Anderson Studio.
A compelling work of documentary theater by acclaimed playwright Chris Thorpe. Blending storytelling, journalism, and live conversation, Treaty explores the human side of global nuclear negotiations.
After a chance encounter with a disarmament expert, Thorpe immersed himself in the world of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons and the ordinary people working toward the extraordinary goal of complete nuclear disarmament.
The production features Seth Shelden, General Counsel and United Nations Liaison for the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), winner of the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize. Part theater, part civic dialogue, Treaty challenges audiences to consider how conversations about nuclear weapons can move from international conference rooms into our own communities and lives.
Director Kate Middleton has been a Middlebury area resident since 2007
