Welcome to the Roxy Theater

During the late 12th century, in English ruled France, a royal family schemes, feuds, and dissembles in their attempts to influence the succession to the English throne.

Gathering with King Henry II for the Christmas holidays are: Eleanor of Aquitaine, the estranged wife he has kept locked in a castle, their three embattled sons, his mistress due to become his daughter-in-law, and the young king of France. Treading through an emotional minefield with biting humor, they eventually reveal their true ambitions and desires.

Hailed as a modern classic, the universal themes of human nature still resonate today. The playwright's adaptation for the movie starring Katharine Hepburn and Peter O'Toole won an Academy Award in 1968.
