A Streetcar Named Desire

Come experience immersive seating in the round with innovative direction and production.

In William’s classic 1947 play, vulnerable Blanche Dubois moves to New Orleans and stays with her sister, Stella and her husband Stanley Kowalski. Fanciful and educated, Stella clashes with the unsophisticated Kowalski, leading to tragedy, splintering the thin line between fantasy, dark secrets, hard truth, and harsh reality.

Staying true to the text, poetry and heightened language of Williams’ original dialogue, Director, Catherine Gillet re-imagines this classic drama for a modern audience, with focus on the four primary relationships in the play—Blanche Dubois, Stella Kowalski, Stanley Kowalski and Harold (“Mitch”) Mitchell.

Against a backdrop of The French Quarter, and with the use of innovative and immersive staging, evocative lighting, minimalist set design, and creative direction, the audience will be guided on a journey into the heart and psyche of this brilliant play and its complicated heroine.
