A singular, multi-sensory encounter with Black cultural history, artistry, and legacy at one of New Orleans’ most historic sites, a journey through place, memory, and history unlike anything else in New Orleans.
The Experience
Inside the 115-year-old former St. Rose de Lima Church, you’ll experience a 15-minute conductor-led immersive tour enhanced by augmented reality activations created with XR/AR Production Lab Black Realities. They come alive on your smartphone or tablet, with soundscapes, visuals, and place-based storytelling drawing you into the past.
The journey culminates in FRESH TO DEATH: The Courage of Captain André Cailloux—a 20-minute live one-man theatrical performance honoring the life of a freedom fighter whose courage transformed American history.
For artists, culture workers, and anyone who understands story as a pathway to liberation, this offering blends heritage, technology, and performance into a single, resonant experience.
