Bestselling author and humorist David Sedaris is widely regarded as one of America’s most beloved and sharply observant writers. Known for his masterful satire, razor-sharp storytelling, and unforgettable live readings, Sedaris has captivated audiences around the world with essays that are equal parts hilarious, heartfelt, and brilliantly honest.
He is the author of numerous New York Times bestselling books, including Barrel Fever, Holidays on Ice, Naked, Me Talk Pretty One Day, Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim, When You Are Engulfed in Flames, Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls, Calypso, and Happy-Go-Lucky. The audiobook edition of Happy-Go-Lucky, written and narrated by Sedaris, received the 2023 Audie Award.
His collection The Best of Me features 42 previously published essays and stories spanning his celebrated career. Sedaris is also the author of Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modest Bestiary, a darkly funny collection of fables illustrated by Ian Falconer. His newest essay collection, The Land and Its People, will be released by Back Bay Books on May 26, 2026.
The program is 1 hour reading from new and unpublished material, followed by 20–30 minutes of Q&A with the audience.
