Jazz Middlebury and Town Hall Theater Present:

House of Jazz Series

Miles Donahue Quartet: Jazz from Movies & TV

Saturday, June 20 at 7:30pm on the historic Rothrock Mainstage

Relax at candlelit cabaret tables or settle into traditional theater seating as the quartet works through a century of jazz on film. The bar will be open throughout the night.

Jazz has scored films since the beginning of sound. "Take Five" ran under Infiniti commercials. "Caravan" drove the climax of Whiplash. "Cantaloupe Island", "Blue in Green", "Hallelujah" from Shrek, "Don't Worry About a Thing" from Sing, the list goes deep.

For one night on the Rothrock stage, the Miles Donahue Quartet plays the music that made it into the movies blending timeless repertoire with virtuosic improvisation.

A renowned performer and recording artist, Miles Donahue has collaborated with jazz legends including Woody Herman and recorded more than 20 albums. Praised by Jazz Magazine as “a jazz treasure,” Donahue has appeared at major international festivals and venues throughout the world and currently serves as Affiliate Artist at Middlebury College.

Joining him are three exceptional players. Steve Hunt on piano has worked with Allan Holdsworth, Stanley Clarke, and Billy Cobham. Larry Finn on drums was the drummer for the national tour of Rent and is a longtime collaborator with Paula Cole. Ervin Dhimo on bass is an accomplished Albanian jazz musician and educator at the University of Massachusetts Boston.

The show runs in our cabaret configuration: tables for four mixed with riser seating.

THT's bar will be open throughout the evening, offering cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages.
