6:30 PM Pre-talk: Dr. Danielle Simon
7:30 PM Concert

Join OCM Board Member and Middlebury College musicologist Dr. Danielle Simon for an enlightening pre-concert talk, followed by our inaugural chamber music concert guided by Music Director Filippo Ciabatti.

Featuring the OCM Festival String Quartet: Concertmaster Brooke Quiggins, violin; Joana Genova, violin; Stefanie Taylor, viola; and John Dunlop, cello, and joined by soloists from the Rappahannock County production, the program explores this year's festival theme, Music in Troubled Times, through works that illuminate composers living under oppressive regimes, characters confronting profound personal struggles, and music that embodies tension, resilience, and hope.

The program spans beloved masterpieces by Bach, Purcell, Schumann, and Shostakovich, alongside works by Rebecca Clarke and acclaimed American composers Jessie Montgomery, Shelley Washington, and George Walker. The concert also features arrangements by distinguished Vermont composers Matthew LaRocca and Kyle Saulnier.
