Join OCM Artistic Director Doug Anderson for his opening remarks about this timely festival and its celebration of the tenacity of the human spirit. The reception will be followed by the screening of this powerful documentary exploring Dmitri Shostakovich's wartime symphonies against the backdrop of Stalin's Soviet Union. Weaving together remarkable archival footage, moving personal testimony, and stirring performances, this acclaimed film examines how Shostakovich's wartime symphonies have come to symbolize artistic courage and resilience in the face of totalitarian rule.
