Edmonds Driftwood Players

Join us for a staged reading of Mrs. Claus Is Coming To Town written and directed by Henry S Brown, Jr. Part of the FIRST DRAFT Staged Reading Series presented by the Edmonds Driftwood Players and Driftwood After Dark.

Synopsis: This holiday comedy features small-town coffeeshop owners Sage & Markie. They reveal the tale of how Mrs. Claus, neglected by her busy husband, abandons him and returns to her hometown the week before Christmas, to make sense of her life. Mrs. Claus encounters a handsome old high school acquaintance and considers pursuing the temptation, but when Mr. Claus shows up in pursuit of her, she must decide to either reconcile with her spouse or embrace the melodramatic holiday magic of what could still be.

Expected Run Time: 110 minutes, with no intermission. A Playwright Feedback session will be held after the reading and is encouraged but optional to stay and participate.

Content Info: Mild adult language and comic violence, fantasy characters, and irreverent Christmas references.

First Draft is a free staged reading series, but we ask that you reserve tickets, in case of changes to capacity prior to the event. Seating is Festival Seating (not assigned). We will be checking people off on a door list upon arrival, so you will NOT receive printed tickets in the mail or at Will Call. Our concessions and bar will NOT be open.
