National Public Radio Presents:
The Moth
Tuesday, September 15. Doors at 6:30pm, StorySLAM at 7pm
Tickets must be purchased directly through the Moth's website starting three weeks before the show here.
Listen to true stories or share your own at this open-mic storytelling competition. The event will be recorded, with select stories potentially broadcast by The Moth Radio Hour on National Public Radio. The Moth at THT is part of a biannual series raising the voices of local storytellers.
Tonight's theme…
NINE TO FIVE: Prepare a five-minute story about being on the clock. First jobs and corporate climbing. Dream gigs, survival work, side hustles. Water cooler gossip, awkward HR meetings. Burning the midnight oil or goofing off on the company dime. Passion projects that fuel you or counting the minutes until happy hour. Is it your calling? Or just a paycheck? Punch in. Punch out. Repeat. What a way to make a livin’!
Would you like some expert guidance before you tell your story? Enroll in a Moth storytelling workshop at Town Hall Theater on Saturday, September 12 from 2:30pm-5:30pm, led by the Moth's Vermont producer Susanne Schmidt. Register here.
Tickets go on sale three weeks before the show, here.
Need some courage to tell your story? The THT bar will be open before the show and during intermission – and the MOTH events at Town Hall Theater have featured a consistently supportive crowd.
