Town Hall Theater and Middlebury Community Music Center present:

The Addison String Quartet
A Benefit Concert for MCMC's Community String Ensembles

Saturday, September 26 at 11 AM in the Anderson Studio

A wildly eclectic morning of chamber music, from Dvořák to Led Zeppelin, to support MCMC's Community String Ensembles.

The Addison String Quartet brings its warm, intimate, and interactive style to Town Hall Theater for a special morning concert. Violinists Emily Sunderman and Carol Harden, violist Sam Liebhaber, and cellist Stefán Örn Arnarson will perform movements from string quartets by Dvořák, Debussy, Barber, and Beethoven alongside covers of pop favorites by The Cure, Katy Perry, and Led Zeppelin.

Founded in 2003, the Addison String Quartet is a community of professional and amateur string players in Addison County who play for the pure pleasure of it. Every week they sight-read from the vast catalog of quartet repertoire and rehearse for concerts, weddings, funerals, and community events around the region.

About the Benefit
This concert supports MCMC's Community String Ensembles, a tuition-free program that brings string players of all ages and levels together to play chamber music. Participants are placed in small ensembles matched to their playing level, from Suzuki Twinklers and Book 1 beginners up through seasoned players tackling works spanning the 14th century to today. The program is led by violinist Emily Sunderman, with coaching support from advanced high school and college students, many of whom came up through the program themselves.
