Palliative Support Services at Porter Medical Center presents:

Stories from the Heart

Honoring the Spirits of Those Who Have Left This World

Wednesday, October 14 at 6:30pm on the historic Rothrock Main Stage

Five neighbors take the stage to share true, unscripted stories of loss, grief, and the people they still carry with them.

Now in its fifth year, Stories from the Heart brings five local storytellers to Town Hall Theater to share personal experiences in their own words, without notes or a script. Like The Moth, each story unfolds live and in the moment. This year's storytellers will be announced the week of the show.

Sharing stories is one of the oldest and most universal human experiences. It invites us to learn more about ourselves, each other, and our community, and it grows our capacity for compassion.

About Palliative Support Services

Palliative Support Services is part of the Palliative Care Department at Porter Medical Center. The program supports patients, families, and caregivers during and after the dying process, offering companionship, vigil sitting, bedside singing from the Wellspring Singers, and grief support.

After the Show
Right after the event, you're invited to walk a luminary-lit path from Town Hall Theater to the Henry Sheldon Museum. There, you can light a candle in memory of a loved one at the Community Memory Altar on the museum's porch, with harp music from Matthew Von Behrens along the way.
