Internationally renowned psychoanalyst Dr. Galit Atlas returns with a new book on the childhood wounds that quietly shape how we love as adults.

Dr. Galit Atlas, the internationally bestselling author of Emotional Inheritance, joins Weybridge author and psychologist Devon Jersild for an evening built around her new book, Come Closer: Childhood Wounds, Adult Love, and the Secrets of Emotional Intimacy.

This profound work explores the hidden barriers to the deep connections we crave, inviting readers into the private lives of her patients—and her own vulnerabilities—to reveal how childhood wounds unconsciously shape our adult patterns.

By identifying six "wounded child" archetypes—among them, the frightened child, the melancholic child, and the invisible child—Dr. Atlas outlines a transformative framework for
healing. Her narrative style bridges the gap between deep psychoanalytic theory and dramatic storytelling, making the mechanics of emotional intimacy accessible to readers of all backgrounds.

Dr. Atlas will be joined on stage by Devon Jersild, a clinical psychologist and author of the recent novel Luminous Bodies. Together, they will discuss the delicate intersections of personal history,
trauma response, and the profound bravery required to truly let someone "come closer."
