A staple in health classes in the 1930s and a perennial laugh-fest if you’ve had the luck to run across it showing on late night TV, Reefer Madness is the ultimate guide to the REAL dangers of that dreaded drug called marijuana. Give thanks that this film has the courage to warn us of the side effects that can result from smoking the “devil’s weed.” These include excessive laughter and crazy piano playing, which lead to loose morals, suicide attempts, and even MURDER. All of this lunacy is illustrated through the tale of an all-American teenaged boy named Billy, who just happens to fall in with the wrong crowd. An entertaining product of its time, this OFS showing of Reefer Madness is made even more fun by audience participation, in which your texted comments will be displayed on the movie screen as the film plays, a la Mystery Science Theater but without the robots!
