Dinner & A Movie
The Battered Bastards Of Baseball

Wednesday, August 13
7:00pm Dinner, 8:00pm Show

Chilmark Community Center
With director Chapman Way, and producer Juliana Lembi

With Baseball, it’s all for the love of the game. This heartwarming and hilarious film documents one of the great true stories about America’s underdog—the Portland, Oregon Mavericks of 1973. Hollywood’s Bing Russell bought a field and created the only independent single-A team in the US, being told it would never work. Gathering the attention and desire of players nationwide, Bing’s team of misfits was soon climbing the ranks and playing ball with the Major leagues, proving to themselves, and our nation, that independent spirit can beat the odds.
