Kidnapped For Christ
Thursday, July 31, 8:00pm
Harbor View Hotel, Edgartown
With director Kate Logan
Every year, thousands of children are kidnapped in the United States—legally. This startling exposé focuses on Escuela Caribe, a U.S.-run Christian boarding school in the Dominican Republic which uses “behavior modification” to reform troubled teens. With incredible behind-the-scenes access, this film follows three students sent to the school—one sent for panic attacks, one for drug use, and the other for being openly gay. Kidnapped for Christ gets up-close and shocking footage of unregulated and abusive treatment for which parents are paying and which Escuela Caribe claims will rehabilitate these teens.
