Friction Quartet

Friction Quartet, recipient of the 2012 Berkeley Piano Club Emerging Artist Award, has established a reputation for edgy programming and exhilarating performances that have been called “terribly beautiful” (San Francisco Classical Voice) and “chillingly effective” (San Francisco Examiner). The Quartet continues to expand the string quartet repertoire and widen audiences for adventurous contemporary music.

Young, edgy in their approach to presenting classical music.  Half of the program is traditional.    Half is their own arrangements of rock music, including Radiohead, Lady Gaga, and others.
