Black Fear

An original play by Charles Fray

A staged reading to commemorate
Holocaust Remembrance Day

April 15, 1945 as World War II races to a destructive end, two women, one Roma (Gypsy) and the other Jewish are shoved together, fellow inmates in Flossenburg Concentration Camp where their lives become entangled with each other and with the life of a young German man. Those entanglements, forged in a five day chaotic crucible as discipline in the camp dissolves and becomes sporadic, and the Thousand Year Reich implodes, are still shaping lives on a snowy April Saturday in a small Vermont town fifty seven years later.
